Message From Our President
Hello from the ladies of AST!
When I had the pleasure of going through recruitment two and a half years ago, I was not sure sorority life was for me at all, but I have found my home in my sisters and could not ask for any more. I fell in love with AST because of our five core values: graciousness, respect, intellect, connections and excellence, which each girl so clearly displays daily. The Epsilon Gamma Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau was founded in May of 2005 and we are extremely grateful to all of the sisters who came before us, making it possible for 88 girls to call AST their home today. To sum up sisterhood in one quote is difficult, but I would say it's true friendship; these girls have seen me through the worst of times and the best of times while still loving me unconditionally. But what comes close is from one of my favorite poems, What is a Tau? "She's known as an individualist, a party girl, a procrastinator, an absolute failure, and a huge success. And when you need a song, she's there to sing it. If you need a dress, she's there to lend it. When you need some understanding, she's there to give it. And when you need a sister, she's right there beside you. She can be so much, yet so little. But when she accepts a rose, a shirt, a pin and a hat, she's an angel, a princess, my sister, a Tau."
I could not ask for a better group of sisters to share my collegiate experience and know that they will be with me forever! I hope that your journey through college and life brings you a home as I have found in AST!
Love always,
Sarah
